2009 To Do List
January
- Before the end of the month, mine and Tom Milsom's album, Taking Leave, needs to be ready (recording, design, everything) to ship off to the manufacturing plant for both a CD and 12" vinyl release in March.
- Finish redesigning VenetianPrincess' new website/blog.
February
- Sell enough copies of the YouTube book to require O'Reilly to make a second printing. =)
- Write, Direct and Upload a music video for "Forgiven" to promote my upcoming album, Taking Leave.
March
- DFTBA Records releases Taking Leave, the album I'm working on with Tom Milsom (which I posted details about here yesterday)
April
- First royalty check for the YouTube book arrives! w00t.
- Start pitching and writing a second book. Most likely fiction. Maybe a joint project with Maureen Johnson. She was keen when we spoke about writing something together.
May
- Take some time off for my birthday.
- Interrupt my birthday vacation to create new banners for Buck when YouTube once again changes the size of his banners and stretches out the ones I've already made for him. Sigh...
- Quit my part-time day job all together?
June
- Have another random twitter fight with sxephil.
- DFTBA Records Summer Tour across the States? ...And the UK!? (of course every stop of the tour would be broadcast live on blogTV if this happens)
July
- Second royalty check for the YouTube book arrives.
- Move out of Jenny's house and in to my own place?
- Post random video on fiveawesomeguys channel, just to confuse people. lulz
August
- Start operating in the black with MeatSpaceTees (online t-shirt company I invested in) - projected sales show all debt being paid off by mid-August.
September
- Hit 20,000 subscribers before my three-year anniversary on YouTube (September 26th).
- Finish writing new fiction book, with or without Maureen Johnson.
October
- Third royalty check for the YouTube book arrives.
- Start working on new short film, Timezones & Statelines, adapting a script from the zine I wrote with Alex Wrekk.
November
- Pretend I'm going to do the whole NaNoWriMo thing again, but instead just reread Paper Towns and get all nostalgic about the Tour de Nerdfighting.
- Finish all my Christmas shopping before Thanksgiving, tired of this last minute stuff.
- Talk Tom Milsom into working on a second album with me, and then start writing some songs for that album.
December
- Help Hank plan the third annual Project for Awesome.
- Finish and Upload short film Timezones & Statelines.
And as for the whole year goes:
- Continue my weekly live broadcast on blogTV.
- Try to upload at least three quality videos each month to YouTube.
- Lose thirty pounds so people stop asking me if I'm "the Numa Numa guy" and other more serious reasons.
- Meet at least two new YouTubers IRL.
- And, of course, continue spreading the word about this amazing project. |

And here I thought I was ahead of the game by having plans up to February.
It looks like your year is gonna be pretty exciting!
I look forward to the album and the future/possible fiction with Maureen.
I think I look forward to the random Twitter fight with Phil even more, though.

Dammit, Alan. I should have seen that one coming. Anyway, good luck with 2009 and I hope to continue seeing you around and whatnot. (Especially in June, if June happens at all)

dear alan,
i support all of these endeavours. (i spelled that british on purpose.) Here is my year, as it pertains to you.
January: get really excited about you and Tom's album
February: buy another copy of your book (i'll use it as a gift.) to help require another printing. then, get one from the second printing, too.
March: buy roughly 29 copies of Taking Leave.
April: laugh hysterically and roll eyes over twitter fight, like i did the first time. :)
May: wish you a happy birthday. make sure you remind me on the day i am supposed to do this. :P
June: become a groupie for the hypothetical DFTBA records tour.
July: support your move, because that's awesome! (also, laugh. ya know, for the lulz.)
August: buy something from MeatSpace tees (i seem to be dedicating a significant portion of my finances toward you, m'dear. )
September: subscribe? i did that? make someone else subscribe.
October: take a break
November: pester you about nanowrimo, and get really nostalgic about paper towns and the tour de nerdfighting. misery loves company. (good times, right?)
December: participate in P4A; watch said short film. but that's a given, i watch all your vids.
whole year: - be a good subscriber/friend
- stop asking you if you're the numa numa guy :P
- volunteer to be one of those two youtubers.

July: come hang out on Lake Michigan
August: start making extra-smalls for people like Monica
September: let Monica read your awesome book
October: dress up like Big Bird or Snuffy, for the purpose of amusing Monica
November: remind Monica to write, no matter how sleep-deprived she may be
December: hold a real-life P4A party with all the cool kids, and allow Monica to watch through the window.
